A Little More Catching Up

Cambria begged for months to get her hair cut. I kepts stalling because it was so long and pretty. I finally gave in and let her get it cut. She chose the length and got about 7 inches cut off. She looks so grown up.

Grandma and Grandpa Cox came from Arkansas for a visit and to meet Quinley. We were so happy they came.

Halloween in December

Quinley's first Halloween!

Yes, I realize it is two days before Christmas, but as you might have noticed, I have not blogged for quite some time and have a lot of catching up to do. Blogging makes the "to do" list everyday, but somehow never actually happens, therefore, I have vowed to spend the rest of this week/weekend catching up.

Grandma, Papa, Aunt Jennifer and Gavin came to our house this year for dinner and trick-or-treating. Conner dressed as - - what ever that is . . . Cambria was a witch, and Gavin was a scarecrow (cute). They had so much fun and got TONS of candy!

Quinley Ann

Looks like I was wrong. She came out after all, with a little help. Quinley was born on Wednesday, October 21st at 2:06 PM. She weighed 6lb. 11oz. We went to the hospital at 7:30that morning to be induced. To be honest, it took longer than I expected since I usually have quick labor/deliveries. Everyone had bets on when she would arrive. All the guesses were between 10:30 and 12:00 that morning. After 12:00 and I still wasn't ready to deliver, we had to come up with new times. My guess was 2:05. At around 1:55, the nurse said it was time, and called the doctor. She arrived shortly after, and the nurse told her we had 3 minutes to deliver so that I could win the bet. Four minutes later Quinley arrived!!! She is so sweet. The kids (and Ryan, aka baby hog) just can't get enough of her.

These adorable pictures were taken by my sweet friend Nicole who came all the way from Wyoming to see us. Thanks Nicole, love ya!

Baby Cox Update

I DO NOT THINK SHE IS EVER GOING TO COME OUT!!!!

Conner was about 7 days early and Cambria came 10 days early (induced), so I had my heart set on Baby Q coming sooner than her due date of October 24th. Only 11 days to go so I will try to be patient, but if anyone has any suggestions to get things started, let me know.

Oh yeah, we decided to name her Quinley Ann (against Conner's wishes). :)

Ready for Halloween and a Word of Warning!

Warning about the Material Girls Quilt Shop: If you love to sew . . .or wish you could sew, this store could possibly drain you financially! I don't really consider myself a seamstress, but the moment I walked into this dangerous store, I had the desire to learn to sew. They have the CUTEST fabric ever! And I do mean CUTEST fabric EVER!!! As I said, I don't sew, but after discovering my new favorite shop, I have made bibs, nursing covers, diaper bags, appliqued onesies and my latest creation . . this adorable Halloween skirt (thanks to a little help from my mom).

Journaling says: Cambria was so excited about the skirt I made her, she wanted to wear it the next day, even though it's only September! We had to take pictures because she looked so cute! She calls these her "Hanna Montana" poses.

Cute Hair Day

We decided to try something new with Cambria's hair today. When we finished, she said "that was easy hair." And it was.

We got the idea from here:

Webelo Scouts

Conner finally earned his Webelo Scout badge; the last badge earned as a Cub Scout. Now, he moves on to Boy Scouts. Good job Conner, we are proud of you.

Happy Birthday Conner!

I can't believe Conner is 11! It doesn't seem like 11 years have passed.

He had a sleep over birthday party with his friends the night before his "real" birthday. On Saturday, his actual birthday, we went to dinner with the family and then came home for cake and presents. As you can see, we had a little mishap with the cake. Ryan was moving it to the table so we could sing happy birthday and Conner could blow out the candles; it was so slippery that it slid right off the tray and onto the floor. It was such a mess! Being the awesome father that he is, Ryan ran right out and got another cake (cake #2).

Did I mention cake #1 was doomed from the start? I ordered it over the phone and when Ryan went to pick it up, they had written on it: Happy Birthday Comnner. Umm, who's Comnner? Ryan asked for a discount or for them to fix the cake . . so they scrapped off Comnner and wrote Conner. It didn't look so hot. I'd show you a picture but I didn't get one taken before the great fall.

Ballet Recital

Cambria had her first dance recital a few weeks ago. She has been in ballet since last August and finally got the chance to perform. I honestly wasn't expecting much - -you never know what will happen their first time on stage. She did great (as far as 4-year-old ballet dancers go). She did the whole routine (watching the girl next to her) and was adorable! She is burnt out on dance so we didn't sign up again. Now she wants to try gymnastics.

Still no name . . .

So . . . Baby Cox still doesn't have a name. There are so many to choose from. I don't want it to be too crazy, or too plain, yet a little different. We have a few in mind but I just can't decide. I am not one of those people who just "knows" what to name my baby the second she's born. If Cambria has her way, she will be named either Snow White or Cinderella. I am pretty sure those won't be in the running.

The doctor is a little concerned that she isn't growing like she should. When I went for my first ultra sound at the beginning of June, she was in the 43 percentile for growth but four weeks later when I went for my doctor appointment and they measured my belly, it hadn't grown at all. They sent me for another ultra sound last week which showed that she is now only in the 20th percentile. I have to try and take it easy (yeah right) and go back in two weeks to look again. They are also worried because my amniotic fluid is a little on the low side. I am sure she will be just fine; I will keep you posted.

Baby Cox

I keep forgetting to post . . . for those of you still wondering . . . it's a GIRL!! She is healthy and still has the same due date of October 24, 09.

This means twice the drama at our house. YAY! Don't get me wrong, I am excited to have another precious little girl, but I'm not sure our house is big enough for two little princess'.

Oh yeah, she doesn't have a definite name yet, so, we are open to suggestions. I keep joking that if we don't find a name we will just name her Goldie. Goldie Cox. ha ha.

Frantic!

It all started with the dream:

I was in the grocery store looking for something for breakfast but could really decide what I wanted. This is what happened next (only in real life).

2:53 a.m. Woke up frantically in need of a cinnamon roll. Not just any cinnamon roll, a Kneader's cinnamon roll. I get up to go to the bathroom and can't get back to sleep. Man I want a cinnamon roll!

3:33 a.m I think to myself, I'm up, I can just go down stairs and make some cinnamon rolls for in the morning. Then I think eww that would be such a pain. Next I tell myself, "but I'd be just like a real baker" (why would I say that)? - - -then I say to myself, "who am I kidding? I will just wait until morning and swing by Kneaders after I drop Conner off for school."

3:42 a.m. There's a knock at . . . . my stomach (actually more like a kick). It's the baby. She/he is saying, "pleeeease mom, I need a cinnamon roll."

3:48 a.m. Great, I can hear the birds chirping outside my open window. Why would anyone/anything possibly be awake at this hour? I might as well just get up, get ready and go wait by the front door until it's time for Kneader's to open. Maybe not.

3:52 a.m. Ryan is snoring now. I want to yell at him, "SHUT UP and go find me a cinnamon roll before I die!" I don't yell though, I just roll over and try to ignore it. What a great wife.

3:54 a.m. Man, I really want a cinnamon roll. Another knock. She/he tells me "Mother, enough with the cinnamon roll already!" "Sorry!" I say. "You're the one who wanted it in the first place. I am simply just trying to provide for my unborn child."

4:07 a.m. Ryan has stopped snoring and the baby has finally stopped moving around. Now if those stupid birds would just pipe down!

4:09 a.m. Ryan's alarm goes off (louder than life). The baby starts kicking again.

4:14 a.m. Ryan's phone alarm goes off. Maybe I should get up and exercise. Ha, that's funny. I think I will just stay in bed and listen to the birds.

8:06 a.m. Pulled out of the Kneader's drive thru with my cinnamon roll!!!!!!

They say when you're pregnant your body craves what it needs. What could my body possibly need from a cinnamon roll, at three in the morning no less?

Please, someone, anyone tell me I am not the only crazy, up at three in the morning, dying for a cinnamon roll, pregnant woman out there!
PS It wasn't quite everything I'd hoped it would be. I think I was wanting more of a Cinabon type cinnamon roll.

Cambria turned 4!

Cambria turned 4 a few weeks ago. I can't believe it, where has the time gone? She is so cute and fun and sweet and sassy and high maintenance and inquisitive and on and on and on. I can't imagine life with out her (or Conner or course).

I try and get a picture of them together every year. I just love how these pictures turned out. (Kiddie Kandids)

The skirt my mom made for her turned out ADORABLE!!

Glasses

We found out about a month ago that Conner needed glasses. Who knows how long he'd been seeing things blurry. I honestly don't think he knew that it wasn't normal to not see things clearly from far away.

Watching him put on his new glasses for the first time was priceless (I actually almost cried). He put them on and looked around for a second, slid them down onto his nose and looked around again, and then put them back on. Suddenly he got the biggest smile on his face, as though he was seeing the whole world entirely different. I am sure he was! Wouldn't you say he looks absolutely adorable in them. I mean . . . . .cool.

Cute Little Girl - - my first video!

I've been trying to get Cambria to repeat this poem forever but she's just to shy. Finally she did it. It's SO cute!

Easter Pics

Here are a few pics of the kids on Easter. Conner, as usual, wasn't excited about getting his picture taken so I didn't get an individual one of him. Cambria wasn't too cooperative so I didn't even get much of a smile out of her. Oh well.

Time to Tell

Looks like I'm starting to have trouble hiding the bump (people are starting to notice). YES we are expecting number three!! It was a surprise. We told Conner several weeks ago so he would understand why I've been so sick all the time. We waited to tell Cambria until it seemed a little more safe. Plus, eight months is a loooooong time for a three year old to wait. We finally told her on Easter and she is so, so excited. She is constantly thinking about things we will need to buy for the baby. She kisses my belly at least five times a day.
I went for my 12 week appointment on the 13th of April and everything looked good. They did an ultrasound so I even got to see the baby. Ryan couldn't come but I told him they were able to tell the sex (which is actually pretty much impossible at this point) and that he would have to wait until the "official" ultrasound to find out for himself. He still thinks that I know and tries to trick the info out of me. I guess if he decides to read my blog he will learn that he's not really missing out on any secret info.

On a sad note, I got laid off from Stampin' Up! yesterday. I loved my job - - -it was an awful day. Looks like I will have plenty of time to relax and prepare for the baby.

THIS is what happens when the dad is in charge of the hair cut!

Notice anything different? Like, maybe the blonde boy has turned brunette (well, except his eyebrows . . . .). I too was quite surprised at the dramatic change in Conner's hair color. I was forewarned however, it still took me by surprise. If Conner had asked ME if he could color his hair my response would have been: "Ummm, no, ten year olds don't get their hair colored!" Does that make me a bad mom?

By the way, he loves it.

Happy Heart Day and a Survey . . . .

Happy Valentine's Day! This is one of my favorite holidays. Although some (including Ryan) think it's a stupid made up holiday, I like having a designated day to let my loved ones know how much I love them - - -even though I already tell them often. I love hearts and pink and flowers and chocolate and love songs and chick flicks and all that other gooey Valentine stuff. SO, here is the survey part: I want to know, what's your favorite Valentine candy? Leave me a comment. Personally, I love the cinnamon lips - -especially if they are covered in chocolate. I also LOVE the chocolate marshmallow hearts but they are sometimes hard to find. How about you?

Another month has escaped me!!

It looks like this once a month blogging has become a habit for me. December was pretty busy, of course. Then, we went to Disney Land right after Christmas and two days after we got back I went to Florida for work.

I am working on posting some Disney Land pics (in my spare time). In the mean time, here are some others:

We got tons of snow a few weeks ago so we decided to go sledding. It was cold and windy so we were the only ones on the hill.
